Thomas Peter Maes

Tom was the dear son of the late Richard and Marie (Bonin) Maes. He grew up in Saugus, graduated from Saugus High School in 1967, and raised his family in Lynn. After high school Tom served in the Vietnam War. He was a Staff Sargent in the United States Air Force. Tom was a very proud veteran.

Upon returning from duty, he then worked at General Electric in Lynn for 39 years, where he met many lifelong friends. He was an Advanced Aircraft Engine Mechanic at GE. Tom loved the outdoors, planting, bird watching, and walks in the woods. He was an avid Jeopardy fan and looked forward to watching it every night with Teda.

Tom was a proud Papa to his five grandchildren and would show pictures and talk about them to anyone who would listen. He cherished his time spent with family and friends.

In addition to his wife Teda, he is survived by daughter Jennifer (Maes) Alli and her husband Tony of Beverly and daughter Stephanie Maes of Peabody; the cherished grandfather of Jacob, Alexis, Noah, Nathaniel and Harrison; the loving brother of Charles, Gilbert, Leonard, Steven, Michael, Judy, and the late Raymond.

Friends and family are invited to attend Tom’s visitation on Monday, March 28th from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM with interment at Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn.
