

Tom served in the United States Navy from 1949 to 1951 completing two tours of the Mediterranean aboard the carrier U.S.S. Wright. He subsequently earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Northeastern University.
On July 26, 1952, Tom married Barbara Mae Willis. He spent most of his working life as a roofer and siding applicator for Tilo, Inc. and Security Aluminum of Lynn. For many years throughout the 1960s, Tom and Barbara led the Junior MYF at Broadway Methodist Church, hosting Saturday night record hops, hayrides, and activities with a sister church in Boston’s Chinatown. He also served as Commissioner of the Greater Lynn Church Athletic Association.
An avid bridge player, Tom earned Life Master status from the American Contract Bridge League in 1986 and continued to play regionally and nationally.
Tom was predeceased by his daughter Mary Elizabeth Parker, his daughter-in-law Abigail, and all his siblings except his sister Pauline Eaton of Seabrook, New Hampshire.
He is survived by his wife Barbara; his sons Michael (Judith) of Walnut Creek, CA; Mark of Topsfield, MA; and Matthew (Cindy) of Columbia, NJ; his grandchildren Shannon, Shawna, Madrina, Madison, Conor, Courtland, Emily, and Jacob; and ten great-grandchildren.
Tom’s Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Pine Grove Cemetery, 145 Boston Street, Lynn.
