Patricia Doris (Smith) Clarke, of Swampscott at age 54, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 28, 2016 in the NSMC – Salem Hospital in Salem. Born in Lynn on September 20, 1962, Trisha was the loving daughter of Kenneth C. Smith of Wakefield and Doris R. (Brown) Smith of Swampscott. Trisha was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn Vocational and Technical Institute. She married George L. Clarke on November 4, 1984 in St. Stephens Church and the couple settled in Lynn to begin their family. Trisha worked for many years as a server in Lynn. She worked at Monte’s Restaurant for over 10 years before heading to work at the Porthole Restaurant where she had been working for the past 6 years.
Trisha was a lover of both life and love. She enjoyed the rush and excitement of heading to Foxwoods to take down the slots for a weekend and she could easily be thrilled by throwing her hands up freely while on the back of her husband’s motorcycle speeding through the Kancamagus Highway. She was fashionable, funny, and full of life. The best times Trisha always had were the times spent with her loving family and dear close friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Trisha is survived by her children: Valerie Harper and her husband, Craig of Sturbridge, Dana Clarke and his fiancée, Kaitlyn Englehardt of Swampscott, and Matthew Clarke and his girlfriend, Tahlia Jacques of Swampscott, her siblings: Jocelyn Smith and Kenneth Smith, both of Swampscott, her niece, Gina Pivacek of NY, her nephews, Christopher and Cody Lovering of Swampscott, her niece, Taya Smith and her nephew, Andrew Smith, both of Swampscott, her very dear friend, Patricia “PLG” Dempsey of Lynn, as well as many extended nieces, nephews, and family members. Trisha also leaves her loveable fur baby, Paparoni and her grand-fur babies: Brody, Delilah, and Mister Pickles. Patricia was preceded in death by her sister, Lori Fuery.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours that will be held in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St. LYNN on Saturday, November 5, 2016 from 1 – 5 pm. A Graveside Service will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Trisha’s memory may be made to: St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0412.
