Mr. Victor O’Brien, the beloved father of Maureen O’Brien, passed away on Monday, May 23, 2022, after a brief illness with dementia. He was the beloved husband of the late Virginia M. (Kenosian) O’Brien.
Victor was a lifelong resident of Lynn, having graduated from St. Jean-Baptiste High School. After graduation he enlisted in the U. S. Navy, serving during World War II, and was discharged a Seaman Second Class. He was stationed in Philadelphia and Hawaii aboard the U.S.S. Fall River. Upon his discharge in 1946, he went to work for the North Shore Cutting Dye Corp. of Lynn, where he worked for several years. Starting in 1956, he worked for Raytheon in Middleton and Andover for 38 years, where he was a supervisor in the missile division until his retirement in 1992.
He loved to spend time outdoors, taking care of the yard, walking for long walks, dining out, and just enjoying every day with his wife and daughter.
He was the son of the late Joseph and Martha (Kibiersza) O’Brien. He is survived by his cherished daughter Maureen O’Brien of Lynn, his sister Loretta Leblanc of Peabody, his sisters-in-law Alice Kenosian of Lynn, Helen Leo of Danvers, and Marilyn O’Brien of Peabody, his brother-in-law Edward Kenosian of Swampscott, and by several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late William O’Brien.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 from 10AM to 11AM in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home 157 Maple Street, Lynn, followed by a funeral Service at 11AM. Burial will be with his wife in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn.
