

Beverly Rae (Jacobson) Haggard, born on May 7, 1935, in Seattle, WA. Passed away peacefully on January 16, 2025, in Marietta, GA. She was surrounded by her family and comforted by her faith as she entered eternal rest.
Beverly is survived by daughters, Teresa Gilbert of Lake Stevens, WA., Debra Caples (Thomas) of Marietta, GA.; grandchildren, Michelle Haggard (Billy El Akil) of Lake Stevens, WA., Julie Higdon (Travis) of Mission, TX., Jim Caples (Stacey) of Snohomish, WA. ; five great-grandchildren and nephew, Mark Early (Teri).
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ragnar, and Dorothy Jacobson; stepfather, Eugene Glasson; her beloved husband of 46 years, Donald Haggard; her cherished partner of 16 years, Charles Fox; sister, Lorraine Early; daughter, Lora Haggard; nephew, Raymond Early; and son-in-law, Christopher Gilbert.
Beverly graduated from Ballard High School in Seattle, WA. In 1953. She met the love of her life, Donald Haggard, at a Lutheran Church picnic in 1950. Their bond grew quickly, and they were married January 15, 1954, at the Chapel of Flowers in Bellevue, WA. Together, they built a life filled with love and purpose as they raised three daughters and embarked on entrepreneurial ventures that included operating their Chicken Delight Franchise at the 1962 World’s Fair. After 20 years at Everett District Court, Beverly retired in 1997 the transitioned to work with Donald full time as they continued to operate restaurants, Blue Surf Seafood and Horizon Seafoods. Their businesses became renowned for serving their signature fish & chips at fairs across the Pacific Northwest. It was during the Lynden Northwest Washington Fair in 2000 where her beloved husband passed.
Beverly remained an active member of her community. She participated in activities at the Bothell Senior Center and volunteered at an animal shelter, reflecting her lifelong love for animals. Her cats, Ling, and KC held a special place in her heart.
In 2001, Beverly reconnected with friend Charles Fox, they found great companionship together, often enjoying day trips in her blue Chrysler Sebring convertible. Charles passed in 2017.
In 2018, Beverly moved to Marietta, GA to live with and receive loving care from her daughter Debra and son-in-law Tom. She quickly embraced southern hospitality while enjoying warmer weather, gardening, journaling, bird watching, attending local festivals, traveling, and caring for her two new cats, Jumper, and Daisy.
Beverly’s faith was central to her life. She was a devoted member of Christ Lutheran Church in Marietta, GA where she was known for her kindness, sense of humor, and radiant smile that could brighten any room she entered.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who helped in her care over the years, especially daughter Debra and son-in-law Tom, Vickie, and Lurine, who quickly became like family, Pastor Connie and many CLC friends who uplifted Beverly with prayer and love. Affinis Hospice, especially nurse Susie and Chaplain Billie.
Beverly’s memory will endure as a testament to love, resilience, and the joy found in life’s simple pleasures. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
