Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills is a funeral home that cares. We are dedicated to creating the personalized services you and your family deserve. Built in the early 1960s, the funeral home was most recently updated in 2016. It has a fresh, modern look and all of the amenities today's families expect.

The funeral home's Celebration Hall includes a non-denominational chapel that seats 120 guests. The hall has an up-to-date audiovisual system, including a pair of 90-inch televisions. The reception area has a full kitchen, high-top tables and chairs, and televisions. Services requiring additional seating may make use Celebration Hall's atrium.

Cremation services

Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills does not have an on-site crematory, but we can easily arrange a cremation. Not everyone knows that there are many cremation options. If you are interested in cremation, the funeral home team can explain the process and the different memorial and burial options. From a direct cremation without a service or a witness to a full funeral service before or after the cremation and more, we help you understand this increasingly common choice. If desired, cremated remains may be buried at Floral Hills Cemetery.

History

Floral Hills Cemetery was established in 1958 and the funeral home soon followed. In 1995, Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills Funeral Home & Cemetery joined the Dignity Memorial® network, the largest network of funeral, cremation and burial service providers in North America.

Floral Hills Cemetery

The picturesque Floral Hills Cemetery, which includes 10 undeveloped acres, serves as a peaceful final resting place to the people of Lynnwood and other nearby parts of the Seattle area. Located at the northwest junction of Filbert and North roads, the cemetery has mature trees and well-maintained pathways; it provides a seclusion and privacy that appeals to many families.

Burial options

The well-kept cemetery offers ground-burial options with both flush-to-ground and upright monuments, memorial and cremation benches, a cremation garden, mausoleums, private family estates and other permanent memorialization choices.

Gardens and features

The gardens at Floral Hills Cemetery have names like Azalea, Camellia and Rhododendron. Many have bubbling fountains. Garden of Reflection, newly opened in 2019, allows for both cremation and traditional burial placements, custom family estates, upright monuments and flat markers.

Evergreen Garden includes a large monument honoring members of the United States armed forces. Originally established just for veterans and their family members, the garden is now open to the public, though it remains a preferred interment place for those who have served in the U.S. military.

Honoring veterans and serving the community

The funeral directors and team members at Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Cemetery are engaged members of the Lynnwood community, hosting funeral planning seminars and holiday events that are open to the public. Each autumn, our Fall Harvest Festival in October draws 600 guests.

We are proud to assist and honor veterans in any way possible. We ensure families are aware of veteran burial benefits and participate in programs such as the Homeless Veterans Burial Program, a cooperative effort with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, local medical examiners, coroners, veterans advocates and veterans organizations, that ensures that homeless and indigent veterans who have no family to claim them are identified and provided with proper military burials.
