

She graduated from Lincoln high school in 1956. She graduated from the first Dental Hygiene class at Shoreline community college in 1970 receiving the Sharon Nelson Award, the first director. She began teaching there and served as acting director for one year. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene in 1973. She pursued a Master of Science while continuing as a professor at Shoreline Community College.
She excelled in developing courses in local anesthesia and restorative dentistry, new to dental hygiene by legislation. She was the complete professional, teaching at a high-level. She was respected and adored by her students, for her mastery, grace, and gentle style. She taught teachers in Oregon and California as those states added these new required courses.
Carrie married Neil Johnson in June 1959. She supported him in dental school and in establishing a dental practice in Lynnwood Washington. They lived in Richmond Beach and built homes in Edmonds and most recently Mill Creek.
Lisa was born in 1960, following a similar career, graduating from Shoreline Community College Dental Hygiene School in 1982. She also developed into an outstanding educator recently establishing, as the first director, a new dental hygiene school at Northgate.
Soon after she retired in 1992, they purchased a condominium in Palm Desert enjoying the weather, new friends golf and tennis. They then had a home in Sun City where she participated in theater and dance. She loved acting and performed in many plays here and in Sun City. Carrie excelled in all her pursuits with her dedication and diligence.
She was beautiful lady, living with style, always groomed and dressed. The ladies in her bridge group call her “Lady Carrie”. She will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends.
A Memorial in her honor will be held August 20th at 11:00 at the Mill Creek Country Club, 15500 Country Club Dr, Mill Creek, WA 98012. 425-743-1444. Remembrances can made to the American Diabetes Association.
