Chris was born in Mt. Holly, NJ on January 25, 1986 and died suddenly on August 12, 2023 near Skykomish, WA. He moved to Washington with his mother Bonnie in 1989 and grew up loving his family, his friends and everything outdoors. After earning his high school diploma, he decided academics were not his interest. Instead, he chose a hands-on career and joined the Laborers’ International Union of North America. He was a skilled and accomplished Laborer, contributing to numerous projects in the Seattle region.
Chris is survived by his mother, Bonnie (Aaron) Bautz, his father, Christopher (Wanda) Legidakes, Sr., his brothers Erik (Bree) and Christopher, his grandmother, Lucille Legidakes and his nieces Phoenix, Astraea and Xena. He is also survived by his Uncle Michael & Aunt Cristina Wheeler, his Aunt Brenda & Uncle Matt Campbell, his Uncle Jason Legidakes and several honorary Uncles & Aunts plus “the cousins” – Cristianna, Jonathon (Samantha), Emilie, Julia, Ellie and Logan. He was loved and enjoyed by so many friends and extended plus honorary family, including Brittany, Ashley, Brett and Marin. Lastly, but most definitely not least, he is survived by his dog, Athena. She was his constant companion from the time she was 4 months old and went on every road trip he took plus hundreds of other adventures. She has been his shadow for over 10 years and is deeply missing her person.
He was never one to sit still for long and he was, in his words, “always down” for whatever adventure family or friends were dreaming up. He loved fishing, hunting, kayaking, camping, hiking, walking on the beach, being on his family’s various rural properties or just hanging out with family. He was also there if anyone needed an extra hand. Didn’t really matter what you needed, if he could help he did. He was just getting into his new riding hobby and was really loving his bike plus the community he was meeting.
There are no words to describe how well Chris was loved or how much he is missed. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested you could donate to a charity that would be close to Chris’s heart such as Save The Children (savethechildren.org) or NOAH (thenoahcenter.org).
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.floralhillslynnwood.com for the Legidakes family.
