This beautiful picture of Diana is just the way I always remember her.  She was someone I enjoyed spending time with and talking to between classes at WSHS.  I loved her Facebook postings and the obvious love she shared with everyone about her family.  Steve, may you and your family be comforted by Diana's enduring love and your wonderful memories.  My prayers and thoughts are with you all as you go through this very difficult time.

We  were neighbors at birth and friends from early childhood.  We spent most of our time playing in our neighborhood and trying to emulate our brothers' activities. They did the coolest stuff.  We played in a plastic dingy filled with water in the back yard.  We were so excited that we were the only “two” in the pool.  We spent hours playing with our Barbies, Chutes and Ladders and Monopoly.  As we got older we loved to take the bus downtown to go shopping.  We would walk to the junction several times a week to do the same.  
When our mom's would allow it we got to spend the night at one another houses or have dinner with each others families.   A couple of years ago we reminisced about how we loved to eat dinner at one another houses.  Diana told me that there was something always going on at the dinner table with 8 people contributing to the activities.  I loved to go to her house because Mrs. Shane made the best fried potatoes I have ever had.  
We walked to school in junior high and high school.   Diana always showed up on time and ready to go sometimes finding me just having gotten up.  Once in a while we went on vacation with one anothers family.  I was so excited that I got to go to the San Juan Islands with Diana and her parents.  Her dad loved fishing and passed that on by showing us all the wonderful things about catching herring and delicious fish from the sea.  On this same trip Diana told her dad that she had snagged her line and couldn't get it to reel in.  Her dad was upset about losing his gear as the line finally let loose.  Diana did not lose her dad's gear she caught the biggest octopus I have ever seen.  Her dad was so shocked he didn't even know what to do when those tentacles grabbed on to the boat and the octopus started to work its way up the side of the boat.   We explored Blake Island with her dog Charlie Brown and Diana made sure I went first on the trail when she thought there was a bear coming after us.  It was a deer.  
My family shares in the sadness of Diana's passing.  She was a great and integral part of our family and growing up.  I feel comforted knowing that Diana is in a place with no worry or pain.  I will miss her greatly and wish her family time to heal, comfort in memories and the great courage it must take to keep moving forward.

I remember Diana from West Seattle High.  Although I didn't know her very well, I always enjoyed her company and being around her.  She had a great smile and a great sense of humor.  My thoughts and prayers are with her family at this difficult time.

I remember you Steve from WSHS Class of '72. My prayers go out to you and your family.

I new Diana from my parents because her Family live across the street.I new Steve from our days at Holy Rosary and from playing baseball many years ago.But to your Family Steve And the years you have spent helping Diana.thru her battles you should be Proud.She gave everything she had to spend with you and your kids until the End.My Heart goes out to You and to Diana I know she in Gods Hands and will look over your family as your guardian Angel .I lost my wife Barb just over 2 yrs ago due to cancer so if you need a person to talk too please give me a call.My thoughts  and Paryers are with you and your Family    Robert Fuda Seatte wa.

Your picture of Diana is exactly how I remember her.  I think it was at one of Sheila's children's wedding that I last saw Diana and Steve and it was nice to see both of them.  I know they were going to attend our WSHS class of '72 40th class reunion in Sept of 2012, but unfortunately was unable to due to the recurrence of Diana's illness. We missed them there.  

On behalf of fellow classmates of '72, I want to express our heartfelt sympathy of Diana's passing.  She will be missed.

I remember Diana from Home room at WSHS, We shared many wonderful times together.  Her laughter could enhance a room. she is now smiling, in the presence of the King.

I met Diana and Steve when they moved in next door to us on 101st Pl NE.  Stephanie was just tiny.  Diana was the best neighbor you could ever hope to have and I enjoyed living next to her all those years.  I have thought of her often, remember her great laugh, love of Lucy and Disneyland!  I am so glad her pain her pain is over and she has left a wonderful daughter, husband and grandchildren for us all to remember her by.  with love, Edie Thornton

What a wonderful person Diana was and what a beautiful service in her honor. I hope her family finds comfort in the love and loyalty Diana inspired. She was a strong woman, she wouldn't go anywhere until she met her grandson. Stephanie, your prayers were answered.  Her strength and love still lives in all of you.

I only spoke with you breifly, but you left a footprint on my heart for life.  You were / still are a flower in my garden of life. I will see you when my time comes.

I met Diana years ago when she helped my friend find her first home. She then went on to assist my daughter in finding a rental unit. She instantly became a friend. It was as if we'd known her forever. I ran into Diana again last March when my cat was ill and I was sitting at the emergency vet and Diana came in because her little dog wasn't feeling well. My cat passed away after that and Diana had VERY kind words for me that helped me in the healing process. I'll never forget her kindness and her humor. I am SO lucky to have known her! RIP Diana. You will be missed!

Diana you were the first person I met at Pemco..I will never forget your smile and kindness.You are in Gods loving arms now..you will be missed dearly.

I will always remember our talks. I will make sure your grandchildren hear all the inspirational things you have told me.
