

Douglas (Doug) Owen Boyd, age 61, a Lynnwood resident, passed away unexpectedly on July 21st, 2022. He was born October 6th, 1960, in Seattle, WA. The son of Owen E. Boyd and Beverly D. (Keeny) Boyd, who both preceded him in death.
After moving to Mountlake Terrace, WA in 1966, Doug became active in sports. He played soccer each Fall and baseball each Spring for several years when he was younger. During his junior year in high school he tried his hand at wrestling on the JV team and was on the varsity team his senior year and co-coached a little league youth baseball team both years. He also volunteered his time with the local youth sports association umpiring numerous baseball games over the years and co-coached youth basketball.
Doug graduated from Woodway High School in 1978 and in 1984 from Central Washington University with BA in accounting. He pursued his accounting career for about 35 years working for various companies throughout the Puget Sound area.
In the early 1980's Doug and a few friends hiked around the Mount Hood area, a portion of the Pacific Crest Trail, and from Stevens Pass to Stieheken at the headwaters of Lake Chelan.
He enjoyed playing league softball, camping whether it was solo or with friends, annual road trips, plus family birthdays and holiday gatherings. He was also an avid Seahawks, Huskies, and Mariners fan.
Doug is survived by his sister Vickie (Boyd) Burnham, of Lynnwood; nephews Ryan Burnham and Garin Burnham, both of Marysville; a niece Kaytlin (Burnham) Engberg and her husband Stephan, of Marysville; two great nieces, a great nephew and his longtime friends (extended family) Doug Ellison, Dan Thrasher, John Dickison, Jack Timmerman, and Jeff Finne.
