

Obituary
Douglas R. Pook, born April 20, 1934, in Seattle, Washington, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025, in Shoreline. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Genene Kluck, son David and wife Cindy, son Jonathan and wife Camille, and grandchildren Alyssa, Aaron, Sophia, Kendra, Caleb, and Serena.
Education and Career
A lifelong Seattleite, Doug graduated from Roosevelt High School, served in the Navy during the Korean War, and earned degrees in business administration and banking from the University of Washington and Seattle Pacific. His distinguished career in banking included senior leadership roles at National Bank of Commerce, Rainier Bank, Seattle Trust, First Interstate, and U.S. Bank, where he helped open new branches across Seattle and Northern California.
Passions and Interests
Doug’s zest for life shone through his passions — cheering for his sons, the Huskies and Seahawks, cruising Puget Sound on his beloved Tolleycraft, driving his classic MGB, tackling home projects with skill and pride, and his love for his dogs.
Community and Service
Deeply committed to community and faith, Doug served through Kiwanis, church ministries, and mission projects in Mexico and Central America. His adventurous spirit carried him across three continents, with special fondness for Devonshire, England, his family’s ancestral home.
Legacy
Known for his remarkable storytelling, humor, and warmth, Doug embodied the values of faith, family, friendship, and service. He clearly loved people and fully enjoyed living in the Pacific Northwest. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives he enriched.
A memorial service will be held at First Free Methodist Church in Queen Anne on Saturday, November 29th at 2pm. In memory of Doug’s life, donations can be made to:
