

Helen Louise (Gill) Peterson passed peacefully on February 3, 2013 at age 86. Helen was born December 17, 1926 to Lloyd and Martha Gill on a farm near Andover S.D. She attended 1st -7th grade in a country school. She was homebound with Rheumatic Fever in the 8th grade. With home study she was able to catch-up and graduated with her class from Bristol High School in 1944.
In 1945 Helen moved to Seattle and took a job with University Bank. Her High School sweetheart, Myron "Pete" Peterson soon joined her and they were married at University Presbyterian Church on August 23,1946. They built a home in Shoreline where they raised 5 children. Helen was a devoted mother and grandmother always supportive of her active family and all their outdoor and sporting activities. She volunteered for in the Shoreline schools and for the Shoreline Museum and Thrift Shop.
After her husband retired the couple moved to Ocean Shores, WA. They also enjoyed the RV lifestyle as members of the Elks Club 1800 Wheelers. Helen loved flowers and gardening. She loved family gatherings spending time with her children, grandchildren and great -grandchildren. She will be sadly and sorely missed by them all.
Helen was preceded in death by husband Pete, sister Joyce, sons Ron and Clarence Peterson. She leaves her family: daughter Judy ( & Dale) Graves -Vancouver, WA., Sons Dennis (& Cindy) Peterson - Woodinville, WA. , Duane (& Juli) Peterson - Edmonds, WA. Grandchildren: Michael (& Stacey) Graves, Heather Graves, Christian (& Samantha) Peterson, Evan Steadman, Jadriene Peterson, Zachary Peterson, Jonathan Peterson, & Lauren Peterson. Great-grandchildren: Sebastian & Layla Peterson, Kaitlyn & Nathaniel Graves. As well as sisters: Marge Brandlee - Bristol SD and Carol Taylor - Vancouver, WA., several sisters and brothers-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
