Jane Ruth Hunt

Jane, 57, was born Nov. 23, 1958 in Waterloo, Iowa. She was the daughter of Claire H. and Nellie E. Glessner. She passed away after a courageous battle against cancer in Seattle, Washington on May 15, 2016.

She graduated from Central High School located in Waterloo, Iowa in 1977; the Allen Memorial Hospital School of Nursing located in Waterloo in 1980; received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from SUNY New Paltz, NY in 2005; and Master of Science Degree in Clinical Informatics and Patient Centered Technologies from the University of Washington in 2012.

On September 1, 1984, Jane was united in marriage to Dale V. Hunt of Bloomington, MN. She was employed at various hospitals in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, and New York. Jane was active in Toastmasters International and the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS). She was an active member of Canyon Hills Community Church in Bothell, WA.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents Claire H. and Nellie E. Glessner, and niece Sara Jane Hunt.

Jane is survived by her husband, Dale V. Hunt; three brothers, David C. (Catherine) Glessner of Waterloo, IA., Thomas R. (Twilla) Glessner of Cedar Falls, IA., and James M. Glessner of Savanna, Ill.; nephew, Joe C. Glessner; nieces Beth C. Buelow, Ann White, Nyssa Hunt, and Elora Hunt; many loving extended family and friends.

Visitation services will be held from 5PM-8PM on Thursday, May 19th, 2016 at Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills Chapel, 409 Filbert Road, Lynnwood, WA. Funeral Services will be held at 4PM on Friday, May 20th, 2016 at Canyon Hills Community Church with a reception following, 22027 17th Ave SE, Bothell, WA. Visitation services will be held from 5-8PM on Tuesday, May 24th, 2016 at Richardson Funeral Home, 615 Main Street, Cedar Falls, IA. Procession Services will be held at 10:30AM on Wednesday, May 25th, 2016 from Community Church of Hudson, 226 Eldora Rd, Hudson, IA to Jane’s final place of rest, at Orange Township Cemetery, Waterloo, IA. Following Graveside Services, please join the family for a time of continued sharing and fellowship at the Community Church of Hudson.
