She met the love of her life, Orville Fletcher (MG USArmy, Ret/Deceased), at church and they married August 1942. After Orville returned from WWII they moved to Mount Vernon, WA and welcomed their only child, Becky (Greg Dionne/Deceased). They then moved to Marysville and Edmonds before settling on acreage in Alderwood Manor where Wanda gained many lifelong beloved friends and animals. She was an Eastern Star member, TOPS member with KOPS status, proud and supportive Army wife, and she very much loved her family.
Wanda was a fun-loving entertainer at heart; hosting “Theme” parties, dancing, decorating for all the holidays and supporting the UW Huskies, Seahawks and Mariners. Hers was an active and fulfilling life, she had a sharp mind and lived independently until recently.
She is the last of her generation in the family and will be remembered for her Red Hair Updo, love of animals (especially cats) that was started as a child when her dad would bring her home a new kitten for Christmas each year, being strong and stubborn, and always dressed to the 9’s. Mom, Grandma, Great grandma, Aunt and friend - you will be missed.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills, 409 Filbert Rd, Lynnwood, WA - Viewing at 9:00 am, Chapel Service at 10:00 am with a light lunch/social afterwards, and Graveside service at noon.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers a donation is considered to Purrfect Pals, 230 McRae Rd. NE Arlington, WA 98223 (cat sanctuary) or Guide Dogs for the Blind https://secureqgiv.com/for/puppyclubdonationform
