

Audrey was born in Culloden, Georgia on January 25, 1928, daughter of the late George Curtis Hay and late Rosalee Belcher Hay. She was preceded in death by her husband Samuel (Sam) Brad Edwards, to whom she was married on May 8, 1948 and by 3 brothers, Golden Hay, Charlie Hay, and Curtis Hay, and by a sister, Claire Conkle. Audrey graduated from Mary Persons High School in Forsyth, GA, class of 1944. She retired from the Bibb County Board of Education in 1989.
She was a charter member of Riverside Methodist Church and taught second grade Sunday School for many years. She and Sam were the recipients of the Cross and Flame award for their service to the youth of Riverside United Methodist Church. She actively assisted Sam with the activities of Pack and Troop 8, Boy Scouts of America. She was an accomplished seamstress bringing to life the ideas of local young ladies special occasions using her foot operated trestle sewing machine. She volunteered at the Methodist Home for Children.
Survivors include a son, Douglas Larkin Edwards (Carol) of Kansas City, MO and a grandson, Collin Edwards, and a granddaughter, Kaitlin Edwards, both of Kansas City, MO.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Snow's at Macon Memorial Park, 3969 Mercer University Drive, Macon, Georgia, 31204. The family will receive friends from 1pm until service time on Saturday, February 1.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 8, Riverside United Methodist Church, 735 Pierce Avenue, Macon, GA 31204 or The Methodist Home, 304 Pierce Avenue, P.O. Box 2525, Macon, GA 31203.
