

Austin Michael Freeman, 13, was granted his “Angel Wings” surrounded by his loving family on Friday, October 14, 2016 after a long battle with Ewing’s Sarcoma. Through his battle he became an inspiration to so many people. A Celebration of his Life will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at Lizella Baptist Church. Pastor Michael Turner of Turning Point Church and Bishop William E. Davis, Jr. of The World of Faith Ministries will officiate. Burial will be private for family only in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends following the service and asks that in lieu of flowers donations may be made to AFLAC Cancer and Blood Disorders Center Egleston Children's Hospital, Bert's Big Adventure.org, CURE Childhood Cancer.org, and Jay's HOPE.org
Austin was born in Macon and was a student of Rutland Middle School (Hospital Homebound Program). He attended Turning Point Church in McDonough and was involved with the youth program at the church.
Austin loved his family above all things and enjoyed family functions especially during Christmas. He loved all living creatures and was an advocate for animal rights. To him all dogs were "Puppies" and he would love on any "Puppy" that was near him for as long as possible. Austin fell in love with steam engine trains at a very young age which only became greater as he got older. Austin was an “old soul” and loved classic cars, motorcycles, fire trucks, any vehicle with flashing lights, and classic rock. Austin was amazingly creative and loved playing MineCraft and WiiU Lego video games. He loved sailing, fishing and water activities. His pride and joy was his Bad Boy Buggy that received from the Make-a-Wish Foundation. Austin loved his Lab Lucy with all his heart along with Harley the American Bulldog, Roxie the MinPin, Saber his Bearded Dragon, his four Glow Fish, and his cat, Kai.
Austin is survived by his mother, Abby Helena Rushin of McDonough; father, Christopher Michael Freeman of Hampton, GA; sister, Brianna Freeman; maternal grandparents, Cliff and Lenny Rushin of Lizella; paternal grandparents, Gary and Cindy Freeman of Macon; maternal-great-grandmother, Dot Pinkerton; paternal-great-grandmother, Sue Smith; paternal-great-grandparents, Gary and Bea Freeman; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, great-aunts, and great-uncles.
