Barbara Ann Howard, 87, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025. A Celebration of her Life will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Snow’s @ Macon Memorial Park with Pastor Jeff Cummings. Burial will be private in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m. to service time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gideons International, 118 S. Smith Street, Sandersville GA 31082.
Barbara was born in Radford, VA to the late Rev. Early Otto Cochran and Mamie Lucy Turpin Cochran. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emory Lee Howard, Sr. and ten siblings, Sidney, Justine, Leon, Wesley, Daphene, Shirley, Haven, Early, Lilly and Opal June. Barbara retired from YKK in Macon and was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness faith. Barbara was a hairdresser, and enjoyed singing and playing the piano and she spent much of her career in manufacturing and child care in her home. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt.
Barbara is survived by children, Emory Lee Howard, Jr., Lee Ann Cummings (Jeff), and Lisa Fordham (Andy); grandchildren, Shelbea Fordham (Caldwell), Madison Campero (Joseph), Jacob Fordham, Sr., (Kelli), Emerson Fordham, Rebekah Cummings and Ezra Cummings, great grandchildren, Jacob “Emory” Fordham, Jr. and Jesse Fordham.
