Sarah Blanche Tidwell Atkins, 94, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2011. Funeral services and a celebration of her life will be held on Friday, December 2, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Jody Long and Rev. Julie Long and Ms. Vicki Hinson officiating. The family will greet friends on Thursday, December 1, 2011 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Mrs. Atkins was born on October 15, 1917 to the late Alva Joseph and Sarah Lou Brown Tidwell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Winford E. Atkins, her granddaughter, Wendy Atkins, brothers and sisters, Joe Tidwell, Lamar Tidwell, Mary Tyner, Frances Newberry and Maggie Stokes. She was the owner of Atkins Auto Parts in Macon. Mrs. Atkins has been a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Christ since 1970 and the Reflections Sunday School Class and was very active in the life of her church. She loved everyone, especially The Lord and her family.
The family would like to especially thank Vicki Hinson and Joy Creamer for the love and devotion they showed during the last months.
She is survived by daughter, Carol (Cary) Cloud of Atlanta; son, Eddie (Carol) Atkins of Macon; three grandchildren, Josh (Nikki) Taylor, Brian Atkins, and Cassidy Smith; two great grandchildren, Liam and Scout Taylor, and numerous nieces and nephews.
