Cathy Lawrence

Cathy Hodges Lawrence, 77 of Macon, Georgia passed away Sunday, March 29, 2026. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in Vineville Baptist Church. Reverend Greg Pope will officiate. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, entering through the North Gate. The family will have a time of visitation on Thursday, April 2, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at Vineville Baptist Church.

Born in Charleston, South Carolina she was the daughter of the late McBride L. Hodges and Metis Barker Hodges. She enjoyed her years teaching at Central Fellowship Christian Academy, and then her role of Dean of Students and most recently Assistant to the Dean of Students. She cared deeply for her students and coworkers.

Mrs. Lawrence was a member of Vineville Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Will Platt Sunday School Class. Cathy’s friendships were a treasured part of her life. She was lucky to have had true friendships that not only impacted her life, but also impacted the lives of her husband, children, and grandchildren. Her greatest love and enjoyment in life was her family, and nothing in this world mattered more to her. She always said “my family is the most important thing to me” and she lived it daily.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Michael “Al” Lawrence; children, Julie Johnson (Michael), and Michael A. Lawrence Jr. (Holly Davidson); grandchildren, Connor Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Greyson Johnson and John Michael Lawrence. Sister, Debra Bedingfield and many nieces and nephews.

Snows Memorial Chapels at Macon Memorial Park has charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Central Fellowship Christian Academy or Vineville Baptist Church.
