Christiane Marie Shoemaker, 84, passed away early Sunday morning, July 19, 2020. A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, July 22, at 11 o'clock, in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery, beside her late husband, Billy Carlton Shoemaker.
Mrs. Shoemaker was born in Beruges, France, Department of Vienne, to the late Maurice Beinjamin Emile Auguste Chevalier and Julia Constance Augustine Gentreau. She was educated in France, and came to the United States on October 26, 1960. Christiane resided in Macon, Georgia since January 1972, where she worked as a jewelry sales specialist for Belk's and JC Penney for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy, in 2004.
Left to carry her legacy are her sons, Eric K. (Dale) Shoemaker; Carlton Lee Shoemaker; granddaughter, Danielle Nichole Shoemaker; great granddaughter, Piper Sipes; and her siblings in France: sisters, Albine Pothier and Maryse Plaire; brother, Kleber Chevalier.
