Danny Bullington

David Daniel Bullington, Sr. "Danny", 79, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2024. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Lizella Methodist Church at 2:00. Burial will be private. The family will greet friends from 12:00 to service time at the church.

Danny was born on August 8, 1945 to the late Francis Lewis "Tony" and Edna Vinson Bullington in Atlanta, GA. His birth was noted by Ripley's Believe It or Not as he was born at 8 a.m. on the 8th day of the 8th month and weighed 8 lbs and 8 oz. His family moved to Lizella when he was an infant and he was proud to be a lifelong member of the Macon and Lizella communities. He graduated from Lanier High School in 1964 and spent most of his professional career as the president of the business he founded with his parents and brothers, Bullington Lift Trucks.

Danny was known for his skillful leadership, dedicated service, and wonderfully outgoing personality. He was actively involved throughout his life in many different service organizations such as the Rotary Club of Macon, the Macon Jaycees, the Shriners International, and business organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce, the Macon CVB and New Town Macon. He was also known for his talent as a grill master. He was an excellent cook and put his skills to good use as a member of teams that won championships in chili, BBQ, and brunswick stew competitions. He enjoyed hosting memorable parties and was often in demand to provide food for events and special occasions. His other hobbies were traveling, riding his Harley Davidson, hunting, and fishing.

In addition to his parents and his brother, Eddy, Danny was preceded in death by a grandchild, Ashleigh. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; children, Dana Bullington Sharpe (Richard) of Lizella, Georgia; David Bullington (Leslie) of Augusta, Georgia; grandchildren Kati Lemley (Trent), Daniel, Faith, Davis, and Pearl; great-granddaughter Ella Joy Lemley; stepchildren Dev Donnelly (Anita Kapoor) of Macon, Georgia and Barrett Donnelly (Josilyn) of Evans, Georgia; step grandchildren Riley and Wilson of Evans, Georgia; brother Toby Bullington (Rhonda) of Lizella, Georgia.
