D.F. Coleman, 83, died Sunday, March 22, 2015 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial to follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends an hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Agape Hospice, 3312 Northside Dr., Macon, 31210.
Mr. Coleman was born in Treutlen County, Georgia to the late Wadus and Alma Collins Coleman and was preceded in death by his daughter, Debra Coleman Avant, and his sister, Geraldine Dowd. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict and was retired from Riverwood Paper Mill as a machine tender. Mr. Coleman was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed working on things around the house.
Mr. Coleman is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dot Coleman; grandson, Lance (Courtney) Avant; and several cousins.
