David worked for twenty plus years at Inland Container Corporation in Macon before entering full time ministry. In 1977, David was ordained into the Gospel ministry by Lizella Baptist Church where he had served many years as Deacon, Clerk, Sunday School Teacher, Choir Member, and on various committees. After his ordination, he became the full-time pastor of Eastside Baptist Church in Macon. David led Eastside in the building of a new sanctuary on Gray Highway which became Northridge Baptist Church; he served as the pastor of Eastside/Northridge for 22 years before retiring from full time pastoring. David was named Pastor of the Year by the Macon Baptist Association in 1981. After retirement from full time ministry, David served as Interim Pastor for Bethesda Baptist Church in Macon, White Springs Baptist Church in Gordon, Bethel Baptist Church in Lizella, Calvary Baptist Church in Macon, and Bellevue Baptist Church in Macon where in 2021 he was also given the honor of being named Bellevue’s Pastor Emeritus. Upon his death, he was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church. Throughout his years of ministry, David helped lead many souls to Jesus Christ, and performed numerous baptisms, weddings, and funerals of those he shepherded.
A lover of the Great Smoky Mountains, David took many trips with his family to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. In later years, he enjoyed yearly trips to Spring Training with the two Steves. David loved his Lord, his family, the Atlanta Braves, real Country Music (George Jones and Merle Haggard were favorites), fishing, and corny jokes.
David is survived by his wife of almost seventy years, Glenda Keen Mosely; two children: Donna Hicks (Steve) of Lizella, and Steve Mosely (Mika) of Macon; five grandchildren, Adam Mosely, Alan Hicks, Matt Mosely (Rachel), Michael Mosely (Amanda), and Amy Hicks, and nine great-grandchildren (Caleb, Aaron, Maggie, Gunner, Kain, Harper, Penny, Lily, and Mila). David was preceded in death by his sister Peggy Merritt.

It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise,
than for a man to hear the song of fools.
