A graveside service will be held at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at 12 Noon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Association at PO Box 37022, Boone, IA 50037.
Wayne was born in Macon on February 6, 1945 to the late Gordon Irwin Pierce and Mary Dell Prescott. His wife, Bettye Joanne Steff preceded him in death. Wayne proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. After obtaining his bachelor’s degree from Mercer University, Wayne went on to work at Robins Air Force Base as a procurement contractor. He was a Christian, serving his Lord and Savior. Wayne was a well-known and much-loved musician for many years. His musician friends were like family and he loved them very much.
Wayne is survived by his daughters, Tammy Clemens (Mark) and Amanda Turner (David); son Adam Pierce; 6 beloved grandchildren, and his loving girlfriend of 18 years Karen Wagy.
