Donita Sue Cox

Sue Cox, 56, went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, May 3, 2015. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 7, 2015 at 12:00pm in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with Dr. David Hunter officiating. Burial will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Donations may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church, 6611 Zebulon Rd., Macon, 31220.

Mrs. Cox was born on September 21, 1958, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Donald and Shirley Cannon Lawson. She worked at Brown and Williamson Tobacco Corporation before becoming a Registered Nurse for The Medical Center of Central Georgia and Coliseum Medical Center. Mrs. Cox was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where she taught Children’s Sunday School Classes and volunteered with Vacation Bible School. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and sister. Sue battled with cancer for much of her adult life, and was known to be a strong and courageous fighter when it came to her illness.

Survivors include her husband of 29 years, Mike Cox; sons, Chris and Brandon Cox; and brother, Mike Lawson.
