

Douglas Albert Driver, 93, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Tim Long officiating. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. to service time at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 886 Mulberry St., Macon GA 31201, or First Evangelical Church, 3601 Fulton Mill Road, Macon GA 31206.
Mr. Driver was born in Thomaston, GA to the late Clarence D. and Carrie Sharp Driver. He served in the United States Army as a 1st Lieutenant, where he received a Bronze Star and served during the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Driver was a member of First Evangelical Church. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and uncle.
He is survived by his loving wife of 74 years, Mary E. Driver of Macon, daughter, Pat (Frank) Patterson of Macon, son, Wayne Driver of Forsyth, grandchildren, Stacy (Matt) Cobb, Jennifer (David) Taylor, Frank Patterson, III, great grandchildren, Shelby Phan, TJ Chitty, Macy Chitty, Evan Meeks, Alyssa Taylor, Lori Clingman, siblings, Dewey Driver, Clarice Patterson, Dorothy Folds, Bobby Heyward, Colleen White, Donald Driver and numerous nieces and nephews.
