Edith Jeanette Lavender, 82, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 8, 2026. A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Snow’s @ Macon Memorial Park. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park with the Rev. XXX officiating. The family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m. to service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Rose Theater, 23 W. Johnston St., Forsyth GA 31029.
Edith was born in Macon, Georgia to the late John Melton and Annie Louise Gresham Pettigrew. She was preceded in death by her brother, James Earl Pettigrew. Edith was retired from Brown and Williamson and Ingleside Bridal and Formal Wear. She was a former member of Mabel White Baptist Church. She attended Sunday School at Forest Hill Church and the XYZ Senior Adults at Vineville Baptist Church. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, cousin and aunt.
She is survived by her son, Todd (Shawn) Lavender of Macon, grandchildren, Devin (Marissa) Lavender, Kristia (Sam) Thomas, great grandchild, Lee Allen Thomas, step-grandchildren, Julian (Erica) Mullis and Bishop Treadwell and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
