

ROBERTA – Edna Jeanette Payne Smith, 71, passed away Monday, March 26, 2012 in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Homer Singletary will officiate. The family will meet friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home. They suggest that those who wish make memorial contributions to Warner Robins Pentecostal Church, 116 Shi Street, Warner Robins, GA.
Mrs. Smith, wife of the late George Douglas Smith, Sr., was born in Macon the daughter of the late Edward Earl Payne and Maggie Lee Hawkins Payne. She attended Miller High School, she was retired from Forsyth Cotton Mill and was a member of Warner Robins Pentecostal Church. She was preceded in death by her son, George Douglas Smith, Jr., her sister, Juanita Donaldson and her brother, Buddy Payne.
Her memory will be cherished by her family, son, Tommy Earl Smith of Roberta; her daughters, Christy Runyon of Macon and Cherrie Lynn Smith Capri of Byron; her sisters, Martha Wiggins of Bonaire and Pauline Burney of Byron; her brothers, Donald Payne of Mobile, AL and Felton Payne of Abbeville; her beloved grandchildren, Michael Crofutt of Macon, Angel Crofutt of Lizella, Glenn Capri, Jr. of Portsmith, VA, Sherri Capri Smith of Centerville, Matt Smith and Mark Smith, both of Indianapolis, IN; three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
