Frankie Jean was born in Macon, Georgia to William Edward and Frankie Sellars Dozier. She graduated from A. L. Miller High School and attended Georgia State College for Women. She loved Macon and lived there for 90 years before moving to Roswell to be near her children.
She married Charles M. “Butch” Beaty on November 25, 1945, after he had returned from World War II. They were married for 70 years until his passing in 2015.
Frankie Jean followed a career in bookkeeping, retiring from Central High School as principal’s secretary. She and Butch were active members of Cherokee Heights United Methodist Church and later Forest Hills Methodist Church.
Family was Frankie Jean’s greatest purpose. She will be fondly remembered as a caring and loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and faithful friend. Frankie Jean exemplified kindness, humility, and hospitality, always placing the needs of others above her own. Her sense of humor was ever-present and brought joy and levity to those who loved her. She had a penchant for frugality, often the subject of family jest, but was never hesitant to laugh at herself about that or anything else. Her positivity and resilience permeated her long, full life and are best captured in her personal motto: “I choose to be happy.”
She will be greatly missed by her family and caregivers.
She is survived by her children Charles M. Beaty, Jr. (Sandra) and Susan Hardee (Rod); grandchildren Leah Beaty Parrott (Matt), Sarah Hardee Belknap (Doug), and Spencer Hardee (Nina); and much loved great‑grandchildren Ellie Parrott, Huck Belknap, and Lachlan Belknap.
The family graciously thanks Magnolia Place of Roswell and Longleaf Hospice for their care and love. A graveside service to honor Frankie Jean’s life will be held Monday, December 1, 2025, at 2 pm at Macon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Methodist Children’s Home, 304 Pierce Ave., Macon, GA 31204.
