Hester Narciss Edwards Hodges, 94, passed away April 26, 2020. A private graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2020 in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Reverend Paul Dziadul officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105 or the donor’s favorite charity.
Hester was born in Macon, Georgia to the late O.D. and Eunice Edwards. She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Charlie Lafayette Hodges; brother, Prentis (Freddie) Edwards. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister.
She is survived by her sisters, Florence (Ken) Marek, June Buchanan; brother, Ivy (Jean) Edwards; daughter, Irene Hodges Moore; son, Cecil (Celia) Hodges, grandchildren, John Binkley, Brian Binkley, Dana (Brion) Miller, Karen (Henry) Rodriguez, and Sonny Hodges; great grandchildren, Kelli Ware and Arianna Rodriguez; several nieces and nephews.
