
On May 9, 2026, Duck went to his eternal home where he was greeted by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and many loved ones who had gone before him. A Celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Snow’s @ Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Rev. Noah Cleveland officiating. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. to service time at the funeral home. Duck was preceded in death by his parents, eleven siblings, first wife Jackie, and second wife, Eloise Fargason Duckworth, son, Brad Duckworth, and granddaughter, Taylor Fargason, son-in-law, Johnny Dickson and great grandson, Austin Hammock.
Duck proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and received an Honorable Discharge on June 16, 1955, as an Airman First Class. During his service he received an award for Good Conduct, Army of Occupation Medal Germany and a National Defense Service Medal. He then served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves as Master Sergeant and retired from the reserves on December 12, 1984. Duck was employed by RAFB and retired in 1989. While employed at RAFB he received numerous awards for his service and contributions. He traveled to Vietnam three times for TDY duty, and he stated many times it was one of the most beautiful places he had ever seen.
His claim to fame was having dinner with Astronauts Edward White and James McDivitt.
He leaves behind his son, Mark Duckworth of Forsyth, daughter, Deborah Dickson Ballew (Jim) of Forsyth, son, Charles Fargason of Macon, grandchildren, Matthew Duckworth of Roswell, Autumn Wilhelm (Jordan) of Grove, OK, Angela Marie Hammock (Burt) of Lizella, Lori Andrews (Ben) of Forsyth, John Michael Dickson (Allison) of Lakeland, FL, nine great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren.
Duck loved the Lord and was known for his prayers at the assisted living home he was in. Every morning and every night he thanked the Lord for his blessings. He stated numerous times he had lived a long life and was ready to go home when the Lord was ready for him.
