Huey P. Reynolds, 77, passed away very unexpectedly on Monday, November 5, 2018. A Celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Doug Ivey officiating. The family will greet friends on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Stroke Association 9707 E. Easter Lane, Suite B, Centennial, CO 80112.
Huey was born in Soperton, GA to the late Joseph Tilman and Lula Odom Reynolds. He was preceded in death by brothers, J.T. Reynolds, W.R. Reynolds, Roy Reynolds, and Elmer Reynolds, and sister, Lynette Greene. Huey was one of eight children, giving him a strong sense of family. He organized, worked and enjoyed countless annual events to keep his family close for more than just your typical holidays. His quick wit, crazy humor, and a passion for a good hymn made for some great entertainment.
Huey was a retired employee from Keebler of 46 years, where he turned many longtime friends into family. Even though he was retired everyone knew if you were around Huey both of you would end up working on the most recent project. He enjoyed teaching his daughter, grandchildren, and great grandchildren skills usually involving hard labor. He was a devoted and loving, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Janice A. Reynolds of Macon, daughter, Lisa (Hoss) Harvard, grandchildren, Caleb (Laura) Harvard, Shelby Harvard, Pierce Harvard, great grandchildren, Evan, Haze, and Drew, sisters, Delene Wilson of Kibbee, GA, Margie Kight of Vidalia, GA and several nieces and nephews and longtime friend, Leroy Moore.
