

Jacqueline B. Polk, 85, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2013. Funeral services and a celebration of her life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Joe McDaniel and Dr. Lee Sheppard officiating. The family will meet friends on Monday, August 19, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to donor’s favorite charity.
Mrs. Polk was born in Dublin, Georgia to the late John Leon and Eulie H. Burnley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph S. Polk and her brother, William Burnley and sister, Betty Jane Schaffer. She was retired from the Macon Telegraph as a secretary. Mrs. Polk was a member of Mabel White Baptist Church, Adult Sunday School Class, and the Senior Adult Choir. She was active in the Georgia Federated Garden Club. She enjoyed sewing, and baking and cooking delicious meals for her family and friends. She was a devoted and loving, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and a dear friend to many.
She is survived by her daughter, Pamela L. (James) Grenade of Eastman, granddaughter, Krysta D. (Dustin) Paul of Eastman, great granddaughter, Zoey Paul of Eastman, sister, Mildred Bird of Macon, and brother, Leon Burnley of Macon and several nieces and nephews.
