James Carlton Kitchens

James Carlton Kitchens, 84, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2022. A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, March 28, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor David Hammond officiating. The family will greet friends from Noon to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

James was born in Jasper County, Georgia to the late James Parks and Ammie Jeffries Kitchens. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa Dunn. He was retired from Macon Mills Supply and was a member of New Beginning Worship Center. James was a man of strong faith. He enjoyed playing golf and gardening with his wife, Laverne. He was a devoted and loving husband, Daddy, Papa, Great-Papa, brother and uncle.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Laverne Kitchens, daughters, Donna (David) Heidel, Jerri Morrissey, grandchildren, Krissy (Chris) Dokey, Jennifer (Bradley) Morrissey, AJ (Rachel) Morrissey, Daniel (Christie) Dunn, Lee (Ginger) Heidel and Erin (Dave) Kartunen, great grandchildren, Preston, Kaylee, Christi, Alleigh, Zane, Daniel, Kaitlyn, Camille, Jones, Eli, Peyton and Heather, sisters, Annette Shelley and Faye Belcher-Kahle, brothers, Herman (Rozella) Kitchens, Walker Kitchens and several nieces and nephews; brother and sister-in-laws, Ray and Teresa White, Wanda and Bunny White, Jimmy and Nell White, Teresa and Rudy Hulett and Diane White.
