

Jean Milne Campbell, 89, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, July 17, 2017. A Celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Gibbs officiating. Entombment will be private in Macon Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m. until service time. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to Wesleyan Drive Baptist Church, 939 Wesleyan Drive, Macon GA 31210.
Jean was born to the late Roderick and Lavonia Clark Milne on May 3, 1928 in Mobile, Alabama. Mobile is where she met and married the love of her life Chester Campbell. They later relocated to Macon, Georgia for Mr. Campbell’s career in the civil service at Robins Air Force Base. She has resided in Macon, Georgia for the past 52 years. Jean was preceded in death by her grandson, Brian Campbell and her daughter-in-law, Sandra Campbell and brother, Pete Milne and sister, Doris Milne Jones. She was a member of Wesleyan Drive Baptist Church. She had a beautiful voice and enjoyed signing in the church choir both at Wesleyan Drive and Tattnall Square Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and an excellent cook and will be remembered as a kind and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt.
She is survived by her dedicated and loving husband of 70 years, Ernest Chester Campbell, Sr. of Macon and sister, Barbara Ann (Ray) Wilson of Shalimar, FL. Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Children, Ernest “Ernie” (Jeanie) Campbell, Jr. of Macon, Roderick Lee Campbell of Versailles, MO, Donna Campbell (Barry) Collins of Milledgeville, James Westmoreland “Westy” (Liza) Campbell of Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD, grandchildren, Erin (Jonathan) Campbell Atkinson, Caleb (Kelli) Campbell, Nathan Campbell, Kyle (Amber) Collins, Savannah Campbell, and Sawyer Campbell, great grandchildren, Campbell Atkinson, Will Atkinson, Carson Campbell and Kaylin Campbell and several nieces and nephews.
