A visitation for Jimmy will be held Monday, May 8, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Snow's Funerals & Cremations at Macon Memorial Park, 3969 Mercer University Drive, Macon, Georgia 31204, followed by a Celebration of his Life at 2:00 PM. Dr. Mark Hudgins will officiate. Private entombment will be in the Macon Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Mr. Carter was born in Valdosta, Georgia the son of the late Myrtle Lee Becton Carter and Rossie Junior Carter and was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Donaldson Carter and a son, Richard Kevin Carter. He was retired from Norfolk Southern Railway as a locomotive engineer. Mr. Carter was a member of Ingleside Baptist Church and was a United States Army veteran having served in Vietnam.
Mr. Carter is survived by his son, David Carter (Dawn) of Valdosta; 2 step-daughters, Marlene Dalton (Phil) and Jan Burke (Rick); grandchildren, Danielle Clements (Clint), Deanna Rice (Bobby), Dawson Carter, Blake Wilson (Angie), and Dillon Lewis; 2 great-grandchildren, Rory Rice and John Ross Clements.
