Joel Jonathan Lowery, 53, passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2021. A Celebration of His Life will be held on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Solid Rock Community Church with the Rev. Wiley Leverette officiating.
Joel was born in Dublin, Georgia to Louis Lowery and Shirley Jean Lowery Mathis. He was employed with Louis Lowery Gardens and served as a solicitor collecting donations for Volunteer Fire Departments. Joel was a member of the 53rd Georgia Infantry Company K, where he enjoyed Confederate Re-enactment. He was a devoted son, father, brother and fiancé.
He is survived by his son, Benjamin Lowery of Macon; father, Louis Lowery (Glynis Mangrum) of Macon; mother, Shirley Mathis (Edward Averett) of Lizella; sister, Talitha Bentley; and fiancé, Becky Maddox of Macon. He was preceded in death by his brother, James Lowery.
