Joel Steven Scarbary, 52, passed away on Friday, September 17, 2021. The family will greet friends on Monday, September 20, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A Celebration of His Life will be held on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Micah Carr and the Rev. Clarke Sowell officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Anchor of Hope Foundation, Autism Center, 3825 Presidential Parkway, Suite 103, Atlanta GA 30340.
Joel was born in Macon, Georgia to Paul T. Scarbary and the late Connie McPherson Scarbary. He was employed with Lloyd Roofing Company and a member of Thomaston Road Baptist Church. Joel loved watching and cheering his son play football and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a devoted and loving son, father, brother, uncle and friend.
He is survived by his sons, Steven Scarbary and Kaleb Scarbary; father, Paul T. Scarbary; mother of his son Kaleb, Tonja Scarbary; siblings, Kathy (Joey) Phillips, Paula Sowell, Vicki (Mark) Renfroe, Paul (Jan) Scarbary, Dean (Terri) Scarbary and several nieces and nephews.
