

Lois Brown Ethridge, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2013. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, on Monday in the Macon Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel with the Rev. Randall Mimbs officiating. The family will receive friends and family beginning at 10:00 AM in the Mausoleum Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the: Alzheimer Association, 886 Mulberry St, Macon, GA 31201.
Mrs. Ethridge was born in Houston County on January 27, 1918 to the late Mary Rebecca Marks Brown and Alfred Page Brown. She was the widow of William Riley Ethridge. Mrs. Ethridge will be remembered as a treasured loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a great cook and loved working in her yard and garden with her husband. Mrs. Ethridge was a member of Ingleside Baptist Church, where she enjoyed volunteering in the nursery. She was preceded in death by two sons: William Riley Ethridge, Jr. and Benjamin Kay Ethridge. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Oaks at Peake for their care, concern and friendship over the past several years.
Mrs. Ethridge is survived by her children: Betty (Johnny) Jones of Macon, Glen Ethridge (Lynn) of Atlanta, Gail (Lewis) Winters of Warner Robins, Gary (Teresa) Ethridge of Macon; one sister: Margaret Bass of Macon; seven grandchildren: Paige (Jay) Lee, William Riley Ethridge III, Rebecca Winters, Autumn Ethridge, Ryan (Heather) Ethridge, April Ethridge and Mallee Ethridge; and three great-grandchildren: Lucy Lee, Jay Lee and Riley Ethridge.
