Lynda was born July 18, 1952 to Eddy and Joyce Alligood in Macon, Georgia. She attended school in Macon until her family moved to Jacksonville, Florida her senior year of high school. She graduated high school in Jacksonville. After Lynda's graduation her family moved back to Georgia, but she remained in Jacksonville determined to make it on her own. She worked for Gulf Life for 20 years and she also worked for Tarmac and Scott's Masonry.
In 1975 she met the love of her life, Jimmy Darrah, on the beach in Jacksonville, Florida. Lynda and Jimmy would have celebrated 49 years of marriage in June.
Lynda's greatest love was time with her family and friends. She was always coordinating a trip or event with her loved ones. She especially enjoyed spending the month of April on St. George Island with her family and friends.
She loved kayaking, riding her bike on the beach and front porch sitting with her family. She always had a kind word to say to the check out clerk, wait staff, or anyone she met. If you went anywhere with her you needed to be ready to engage in long conversations with complete strangers. She loved being around people and hearing about their life stories.
Lynda was preceded in death by her parents, Eddy and Joyce Alligood; sisters-in-law, Shelia Darrah Johnson and Laurie Darrah.
Lynda is survived by her husband Jimmy Darrah; sisters, Brenda (Marv) Bittinger, Maria (John) Waters, Marsha (Kenny) Waddle, brother-in-law Dennis Darrah (Linda Vaughn) sisters-in-law, Vicky Hughes, Monica Darrah, Maggie Darrah and Molly Darrah; and cherished nieces and nephews, Johanna (Ryan) Doe, Andrea (Mark) Sulborski, Ashley (Keith) Hatcher, Travis (Katie) Powell, Dylan (Kianna) Waddle, Suzy Johnson, Alaina (James) McCormack, Jimmy Urciuoli, Mike (Veronica) Russ, Jeff (Sona) Auriemma, and Nick Auriemma.
