I have such precious memories of the time you and your family spent in Camilla  and the glorious changes within my family as a result of your presence here. Dear Frank,
It was certainly good to see you today.  I regret that it was the passing of Mabel that brought us together, but we know that she is in the presence of our Lord and that someday the two of you will be reunited.  The service today was one that I am sure Mabel would have approved of and appreciated. We were honored to have been able to attend.
We enjoyed meeting all of your family.  They are a handsome and numerous bunch.  Your children were growing up when you were at Striplin Terrace. Our children have many memories of those years. 
It would have been nice to sit and visit for a bit, but there was no time for that today. Seeing you and your family brought many good memories flooding back. We remember your fine ministry. Those were great days for Striplin Terrace. We remember your singing with Mabel playing. Bobby and Romaine Lloyd and their two daughters joined the church after you came.  They really put some pizzazz in the music.  I remember trading shoes with you as you were about to perform a marriage ceremony (some readers of this may wonder why we traded shoes). Shortly after you arrived at Striplin Terrace you asked from the pulpit if we knew Victory in Jesus. We answered no and you replied well you will.  And we did. I remember trips to the Alabama farm to hunt quail. (I will never disclose the story of our trip when we got stuck, got the farmer's truck stuck, stood in front of a pot-bellied stove in our underwear trying to warm up and dry out, and having to call Mabel and Sara to come get us.)  Everybody remembers going to the parsonage for a meal of quail, grits, and gravy.  Until you told us, we had not known that manna was really grits. :)
You and Mabel and the children are among the friends whose love and service we will never forget.

I did not personally know Mrs. Harris, but I know Kathy & would like to express my sincere condolences to you and your family.  Having recently lost my Mom, my  heart goes out to you. What a wonderful, accomplished, giving woman Mrs. Harris was. Heaven certainly gained a special lady. Dear Brother Frank, My heart and mind has been thinking about you over the past few days. I was saddened to hear about the passing of your beautiful and wonderful wife. Please be assured of my prayers and love over the next few days.

Mr. Frank, Susannah, and Donnie:
Brenda and I were sorry to here about Mrs. Mabel.  I consider it a privilege to have known her.  I am especially thankful that she was my Mom & Dad's neighbor for all those years.  She was always so thoughtful on checking on them in their later years.  Mom & Dad loved her and Frank like family. She will be missed.  We are out of town until next Monday so regretfully we will miss the service. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

  It was with great sadness that we got the news of the loss of Aunt Mabel, knowing that a irreplaceable light has gone out of so many lives. Mable was such a graceful and warmhearted person that had such a calming effect on all around her. A smile of sincerity always greeted you when saw her and I know Frank and the children must feel a loss that words can not express, but the faith that she shared with everyone around her stands as proof of something greater than this world, and waiting in the next.

We express our deep love and caring to the Harris family in this time of loss and celebration of Mabel's life. We were so blessed to become a part of this family when our son Scott fell in love with Kathy Harris at Lake Junaluska, North Carolina, where they were married on October 21, 1984.
Every time Frank and Mabel visited the Lake that they loved so much, they would always make time to visit in our home there.
May God richly bless and comfort you all, dear family, in this time. We hold you close in our prayers. A special word of love to our sweet grandchildren, Rachel, Bekah and Luke.
