OBITUARY

Margaret Caroline Stevens von Seeberg

27 August, 1927 – 26 October, 2025
IN THE CARE OF

Snow's Funerals and Cremations At Macon Memorial Park & Macon Memorial Park Cemetery

Margaret Caroline Stevens von Seeberg was a loving daughter and sister, dedicated wife, nurturing mother, doting Grammy, caring homemaker, professional secretary, and loyal friend. Most importantly, she was a faithful servant of Jesus Christ. She was welcomed into her heavenly home on October 26, 2025, at the ripe age of 98.

Born to John Carey Stevens and Anna Ruth Roberts Stevens in St. Petersburg, Florida, she moved with her family to Lexington, Virginia, then Macon, Georgia where she attended Lanier and Miller High School and the Georgia Florida Business School. She married the love of her life, Richard Herman von Seeberg, Jr. in 1955, and they soon moved to Albany, Georgia. After their only child Anna was born they moved back to Forsyth, Georgia to Richard’s family farm.

Margaret was a member of Forsyth Methodist Church and the ladies’ circle there. She enjoyed volunteering at Monroe Academy as a class mom, and with the Monroe County Hospital Auxiliary Pink Ladies. She was in several bridge clubs, and took up painting as a hobby. Most treasured are the paintings she did of her family’s homes. In later years, Margaret moved to Carlyle Place, her retirement home, and joined Martha Bowman Church and the Wesleyan Woods Garden Club.

Margaret is predeceased by her parents, her husband of almost 40 years, Richard, and her sister Carey Stevens Smith.

She is survived by her daughter, Anna Margaret von Seeberg Jones, her son in law, Charles McKinley Jones, of Forsyth, 2 granddaughters, Caroline McKinley Jones Coutts (Michael) of North Augusta, South Carolina, and Anna von Seeberg Jones Jue (Christopher) of Charlotte, North Carolina, and her sister, Jane Stevens Boykin, of Pueblo, Colorado, and nieces and nephews. Margaret loved her family deeply and was loved deeply.

The family is very thankful for the wonderful care given by the staff at Carlyle Place, and the special friendships made there over 19 years.

A private memorial will be held at Macon Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to: The Monroe County Hospital Foundation, P.O. Box 1068, Forsyth, Georgia 31029
