MACON – Mildred Marie Gossett, 57, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Friday in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Steve Johnson will officiate. The family will meet friends Friday, December 2, 2011 from 1:30 – 3:00 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Road to Hope, Bradley Baptist Church, P. O. Box 61, Gray, GA 31032.
Mrs. Gossett, daughter of the late Clifton Ellis Johnson and Mary Frances Parker Johnson, was a lifelong resident of Macon and worked at Georgia Market House. She enjoyed spending time with Austin, enjoyed cooking and especially baking. Mrs. Gossett was involved in classes and dedicated to teaching at Rivers Edge. She was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Johnson and has now been reunited with her beloved son, O. J. Gossett who died in an auto accident in 1998.
Survivors include her brothers, David Johnson of Macon and Steve (Amy) Johnson of Gray; her nieces and nephews, Stacie (Randy) Elsey, West Johnson, Matt Johnson and Austin Johnson.
