

Lizella – Raymond Nathan Smith, Sr, 56, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, August 1, 2011 Macon Memorial Park with the Rev. Jessie Richardson and Rev. Marty Watson officiating. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Smith was born in Macon to the late Betty Jean Wesley Smith and Franklin Delano Smith. He was a self employed contractor and an avid NASCAR fan. Preceded in death by his son: Phillip Smith and sister: Tonya Wilson. He was a role model to his family and friends.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife: Bonnie Smith of Lizella; Daughters: Misty (Michael) Peterman of Byron, Deana (Adrian) Wilson of Macon; two sons: Scott Darley and Nathan Smith both of Lizella; Grandchildren: Sam and Nate Peterman, Corey (Ashley) McLendon and Kaley (Buddy) Leclair, Chaley Couch, Austin Darley, Alexis Smith and Ethan Morales; Great-grandchildren: Alyssa Holsenbeck, Phillip McLendon, Chaim Leclair; four sisters: Diann (Steve) Tucker of Juliette, Wanda (Bill) Thomaston of Jones County, Brenda Rogers of Jones County, and Vivian (Mark) Flanders of Macon. Beloved pets Sassy and Cody.
