KNOXVILLE – Richard Randall Atcheson, Sr., 70, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at a local hospital. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with Brother Robert Carey officiating. The family will meet friends from 12 Noon to service time at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry Street, Macon 31201.
Mr. Atcheson, son of the late Robert Randall Atcheson and Ruby Lee Williams Atcheson Hopkins, was born in Atlanta. He was in the Bridge and Building Department retired from Norfolk-Southern Railroad after thirty-three years of service. Mr. Atcheson was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his beloved family, his wife, Claudette Atcheson of Knoxville; two sons, Richie (Glenda) Atcheson of Pelzer, SC and Robbie Lee Atcheson of Lizella; two grandchildren, Kaylee Grace Atcheson and Timothy Kameron Atcheson; six sisters; four brothers; his stepmother, Jane Atcheson of Danielsville and a number of nieces and nephews.
