
Macon, GA – Ruth Brown Hixon, 91, went to be with her Lord on Friday, October 22, 2010. Funeral services and a celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Entombment will be held at Macon Memorial Park Mausoleum with Father Hal Weidman officiating. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 753 College Street, Macon GA 31201.
Mrs. Hixon was born in Macon, GA to the late Issac and Georgia Butts Brown. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wesley Hixon and son, Charles Marion Hixon. Mrs. Hixon was a graduate of Morris-Brown College and was a retired teacher from Duresville Elementary School and was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. She was a member of the Skylarks Social Club and was very active in the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9709 and held various offices.
She will be missed by her family who loved her most, daughter, Gail Hixon Foster of Macon, grandchildren, Andre Hixon (Sabrina) of Atlanta, Dwayna Thompson of Jonesboro, Tamika Sanders (Steven) of Macon, Kisha Foster (Jabraun Johnson) of Anderson, SC, Charissa Hixon of CA, Leroy Foster, Shelby Foster and Edward Foster all of Macon, great grandchildren, Alexis Hixon, Channing Hixon, Charles Hixon, Daryn Sanders, Skylar Sanders and Shelby Foster, nieces, Drucilla Hardnett, Dr. Eleanor Hixon, nephews, Bernard Brown, Kenneth Brown, Ronnie Brown, and Dr. Clarence R. Hixon( Sharon) sisters-in-law, Juanita Hixon, Lula Brown, LaUna Moore and a host of cousins.
