Stanley from the first day I met you till now. I always have believed you were a special kind of friend. I remember when you showed up at my door looking to date my daughter. I remember all the times you asked for advice on things and then still did things your own way. You gave up your time for all of your friends and helped anyone in need myself included. You had a kind gentle heart and truly gained my respect. You gave up your world to take care of Sherie and grew a bond between you and her that will never break and she loved you for it. The loss of you son is more than any family should have to endure. I love and miss you so much. I am going to miss your smiling face at all the family functions. It will never be the same with out you here with us. Hopefully we can function enough to help take care of your mom,sisters,daughters and your wife. I will do the best I can. I knew Stanley through Derrick and knew him to be a friend you could always count on. He would help whenever and with whatever was needed and never asked for anything in return. I will always remember Stanley calling everyone on a Friday and Saturday night asking them if they had seen any couches out on the side of the roads so we could load them up and take them to Westlake. Everytime I passed a couch from there on out I would think of "Stan The Man." My husband and I were always on the lookout for couches. Stanley was a great friend and even gave Sean a rear-end to put in his truck one time because he felt so bad that he was the one driving when it messed up. He was definitley a stand up guy. He will truly be missed by everyone and Heaven has certainly gained an angel in this wonderful person. May God rest his soul and bring peace to his family and friends.

While you were not here long, you left behind a legacy in your children and your wife and they will take the best of you and carry forward. Hold them in your heavenly arms as they struggle and learn how to live without your presence. All my love is with your girls, all three of them, always.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

After Billy & Elizabeth were gone, I lost contact with most of the family except Stanley.  My son, Robert "Bobby" Byrd, has Stanley's phone number in his cell phone. I am saddened to hear of Stanley's death. Darran was my cousin and Stanley was just a young boy when I last saw him.

I was Stanley's 7th grade teacher and he left a lasting impression with me. He was always happy and knew that he wanted to work with engines and work with his hands. He made me laugh and realize that he was the reason that I became a teacher. He was a polite and respectful student who would ask questions in class, and had wonderful parents. Stanley, this is hard seeing one of my students leave this world before you were supposed to. I will miss your smile.
