

MACON – Thomas J. McMichael, 82, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2011 at his residence surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Jared Hammock will officiate. The family will meet friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home and while flowers are accepted, memorial contributions may be made to Northminster Presbyterian Church, 565 Wimbish Road, Macon 31210.
Mr. McMichael, son of the late Terrell and Pallie Torbet McMichael, was a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps and was an electrician retired from Georgia Power Co. Mr. McMichael was a part owner of McMichael Brothers Gas Company in Jackson. He was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church and a member of Senior Friend H2U at Coliseum Medical Center. He also was a Mason and a member of Indian Springs Lodge in Jackson, GA. Mr. McMichael was also a avid rabbit and Dove hunter.
Survivors include his devoted wife of sixty years, Laverne G. McMichael of Macon; his daughter, Margaret Elaine McMichael of Clayton; his grandchildren, Christian Priest of Griffin and Justin Boyer of Virginia; his great grandchildren, Nicklaus Johns, Brooklyn Priest, London Priest, Lexi Boyer and Michael Boyer; his sisters, Lucile Brown, Dorothy Duke, Pallie Zontek, Jennie Kinard and several nieces and nephews.
