Thomas Oscar Upshaw, 86, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2025. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Butch Mullis officiating. The family will greet friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Snow’s @ Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Oscar was born in Cadwell, Georgia to the late Ernest and Lucille Scarborough Upshaw. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Lee Collins, daughters, Dorothy Upshaw Oates and Denise Wright, siblings, Roscoe Upshaw, Kathryn Warren, Betty Brown and Zella Ruth Upshaw. He was retired from Bassett Furniture Company as a finishing department foreman. Oscar loved fishing and woodworking.
He is survived by his granddaughter, Brooke (Billy) Strange of Macon, great grandchildren, Niecee Beaty, Ethan (Quetzady) Stone, Presley Strange, Christopher Strange, great great grandchild, Oscar Stone, son-in-law, Curtis Oates and several nieces and nephews.
