

William Everett Patrick, 82, passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2025, surrounded by his family. A celebration of his life were held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Snow’s @ Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park with the Rev. Andy Oxford officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 7025 Rivoli Road, Macon GA 31210.
Bill was born April 10, 1943, in Tifton, Georgia. He was raised on a tobacco farm in Brookfield, Georgia. He graduated from Tifton High School in 1961. He attended Georgia Southern University and earned a bachelor’s degree in business. He worked for Union Carbide where he sold Eveready flashlights and batteries for over 30 years.
Bill was very athletic. He played basketball in high school and college. He was exceptional at tennis and an avid golfer. His passion for golf led him to participate in numerous tournaments. He was very proud when he aced No. 13 at River North from 174 yards with a 5-iron making a hole in one on March 25, 1995.
Bill had a love for animals and throughout his life he had a skunk, a squirrel, a horse, dogs and cats. When he was in elementary school, he had a pet raccoon named Rocky he raised from a baby. He kept him until he went to college. He took it to the Valdosta Zoo. His most recent love was his adopted rescue dog named “Lucy”. His love for Lucy was unconditional.
He was the epitome of a good man, a true embodiment of honor, integrity, and compassion. If there was a place for the phrase, “honorable man,” it would bear his name. His life set the standard for goodness, and his legacy will forever be a testament to the meaning of a good man.
His life of faith was a center part of who he was, Church was an active part of his life, not only for himself but for his family as well.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda B. Patrick of Macon, six daughters, Paige (Jim) Turner of Macon, Karrie Patrick of Macon, Shannon Patrick of Gray, Tasha Mermans of Charlotte, NC, Allison Griffith of Warner Robins, Meghan Griffith of Jacksonville, FL, fourteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren and his loving fur baby “Lucy”.
